The Gibson B. B. King "Rumble in the Jungle" 1974 ES-355 is a detailed replica of the guitar that B. B. King played in Kinshasa in 1974.
Traditional ES construction made of maple and mahogany
For its classic sound character, the body is made of maple laminate to match the original and has a center block that minimizes the instrument's feedback resistance and transmits the resonance into the body via the Tune-o-Matic bridge. As a custom model, the B. B. King ES-355 naturally has a classy walnut finish and multiple body bindings that surround both top and f-holes. The basic construction of the B. B. King "Rumble in the Jungle" 1974 ES-355 is completed by a three-strip mahogany neck with authentic Artist profile and 22-fret ebony fingerboard.
T-Type humbucker & VariTone Switch
For authentic sounds of the era, Gibson B. B. King "Rumble in the Jungle" 1974 ES-355 relies on two T-Type Custombucker in neck and bridge position. The two double coilers from the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee are faithful replicas of the coveted T-Top humbuckers used on Gibson instruments in the sixties and seventies and impress with their Alnico V magnets, which give B.B. King's dynamic blues leads a striking expression. and to have the treble perfectly under control at all times, the instrument also offers a VariTone switch with six switching positions for selecting different capacitors.
Maestro Vibrola with an aged gold look
In keeping with the original features of the ES-355, the Deluxe model features hardware with an aged gold finish, which, in combination with the elegant walnut finish, gives the instrument its luxurious look. The classic Maestro Vibrola and the Tune-o-Matic are finished in Gold, while the six Kluson tuners with historically correct 'waffleback' pattern on the back of the case and metal tulip wings provide the typical headstock silhouette of the ES-355. The Gibson B. B. King "Rumble in the Jungle" 1974 ES-355 is completed by traditional 'Witch Hat' pot caps, while the Custom Shop Diamond headstock inlay is naturally a must.
