The Hemingway DP701 MkII BP is a beautiful digital piano with a weighted 88-key hammer action keyboard and a powerful stereo speaker system. The highly playable instrument is aimed at beginners and advanced players alike and offers 32 selected sounds plus numerous GM sounds that can be enhanced with reverb and chorus effects if required. Thus, the digital piano covers a wide range that appeals to classical pianists as well as jazz and band keyboardists. The polyphony of 64 voices is sufficiently high to ensure smooth playing. Here you can also choose the layer mode, with which you can play two sounds on top of each other, as well as the split mode, with which you can play a second sound on the left side of the keyboard. To be able to keep time while practicing and playing, a metronome can be switched on at any time. The recording function has a capacity of about 90,000 notes and manages several two-track songs. This is useful to check yourself, but also to replace the third and fourth hand on the instrument.
Classic design
Externally, the DP701 MkII is based on the design and appearance of mechanical pianos. The elegant design with polished surface gives the digital piano a noble Finish and discreetly blends the instrument into the living room without making it look clunky. The integrated keyboard cover protects the keyboard from dirt when not in use. The music holder is easily positioned and wide enough to hold several sheets of music at once in the player's field of vision. A bar mounted in front of it prevents sheet music or a tablet from slipping into the keyboard area. The DP701 MkII also performs well as a piano for school bands, in the theater group and in a band's rehearsal room.
Permanently integrated triple pedal
Firmly integrated into the DP701 MkII's housing are the three pedals for sustain, soft and sostenuto. Thanks to these smooth-running pedals, accentuated playing is possible and additionally more expressive possibilities are given.
Stereo speaker
The sound-strong stereo speaker system spoils your ears with 2x 20 and 2x 5 watts! Due to the primarily front radiation pattern of the speakers, the player sits in the center of the effective range.
Connections
The stereo output of the DP701 MkII allows connection to a mixer or amplifier. The audio input can be used to connect a CD or MP3 player, for example, and use the music played on it for practicing and playing. Thanks to the USB port and the MIDI output, the digital piano cuts a fine figure as a master keyboard on a computer with music software (DAW) and can also be used as a keyboard for an external sound expander. The two headphone jacks on the front are ideal if you want to make music alone or in pairs without disturbing others. Since BlueTooth audio is also implemented, the DP701 MkII can also function as a speaker for smart devices.
