Semi-acoustic electric bass with short-scale length and staple pickups
The Höfner HCT-500/2-BK Club Bass CT Black from the popular Contemporary series offers the typical Höfner sound and the authentic vintage design from 1964 at an attractive price. Höfner naturally uses a body with laminated maple back and sides and a laminated spruce top, which in combination with the short 30" scale length (762 mm) promises a particularly sonorous sound with a powerful bass foundation. In addition, the short-scale construction guarantees smooth playing characteristics on the three-piece maple-beech neck. With two Höfner Staple pickups, the Höfner Contemporary Club Bass delivers flexible bass sounds with a distinct vintage character at the bass amplifier, whereby the classic passive circuit with rhythm solo switch, two pickup on/off switches and two volume controls make multifaceted timbres available. Last but not least, a Höfner Fretted bridge, a trapeze tailpiece and classic vintage-style tuners complete the Höfner HCT-500/2-BK Club Bass CT Black.

My order came in good time it was well packaged & the price was competitive. However it was obvious to me that the guitar had not been checked (missed) & no certification like the website states. On opening I was surprised to see the E string had slipped of the bridge which itself was loose and the strings did not look new. I took to a guitar tech who had to re-set the neck, high frets replace the strings which was mentioned were corroded, the bridge saddle set up for intonation & the ridges filed better so the thinner new strings would fit properly, cost to us a further £75. I have rated here as to how I received the product not to how it now performs.
