The Laney Ironheart IRT Studio Rackmount Guitar Valve Amp Head produces the same renowned Ironheart tones as the larger heads but in a neat, low-wattage studio package with the addition of some extra features like no latency USB Audio I/O connectivity and speaker-emulated record out to get a great tone whether you are recording in the studio or recording live.
The USB supplies both a dry signal and the processed signal – split left and right to the DAW – directly into either your PC/MAC or iPAD, which means that you can alter the guitar tone of your original recording without having to re-track anything.
Other features include an internal dummy load for silent recording and a high quality speaker-emulated record out immediately after the output section which means it delivers all valve tone to your DAW or PA or both at the same time for recording your live shows.
The main features of the Laney Ironheart IRT Studio Rackmount Guitar Valve Amp Head include;
Very good sound for metal/heavy rock mostly.
Nice clean. I liked the reverb too.
I think IRT studio will be excellent for home or studio usage.
Re-amping feature/USB interface is something one cannot find in devices with such low price.
So the price/performance is very good!
Great tube tone at reasonable volume and fantastic flexibility in tone shaping! Had my eye on these amps ever since they released (reading/watching reviews on youtube), but didn't quite bite the bullet at the time since I was playing bigger heads + cabs in bands. Since I don't play in bands anymore it seems silly to start pumping 100w amps at home volume so this amp came back in the picture. And this thing just blows my mind. Easily tweakable to any sound I want at "just enough" volume on the lowest wattage setting. I can imagine this would be a solid backup or even main amp for gigging (depending on your drummer and monitoring). I would be interested to compare this to it's successor (the SLS version)... ;-)
