In addition, the Catalyst CX 100 has numerous connection options that make it a reliable companion for almost any application.
12 amp voicings from Clean to high gain
With a total of 12 amp voicings borrowed from the award-winning Helix models, the Catalyst CX easily covers the entire spectrum of possible amp types and always offers guitarists of all playing styles the right sound. The amp mode Clean provides the ideal basis for undistorted sounds and for using external effect pedals, while metalheads and fans of refined distortion sounds will get their money's worth in Hi Gain mode. A 3-band equalizer and an additional boost control are also on board to further tune the basic sound.
On-board effects & FX loop
All of the Catalyst CX's amp sounds can be easily combined with the first-class integrated digital effects. Six delay, modulation, pitch/filter and reverb effect types are available, two of which can be activated simultaneously. However, if you want to use your existing effects, you can simply switch these effects pedals between the Catalyst CX's preamp and power amp via the rear effects loop and switch them on and off at any time using the optionally available LFS2 footswitch.
The rear of the Catalyst CX 100 contains all the connection options and the power reduction that can be used in three stages.
Practical connections for every occasion
The fact that the Line 6 Catalyst CX 100 is far more than just a combo amplifier is proven by the rear connections, which serve a variety of different functions. The Catalyst CX can be connected to PCs as an audio interface via a USB port for simple, yet amazingly professional-sounding direct recordings. The USB interface can also be used for MIDI control of the amp. There is also an aux input for playback devices and an additional headphone connection on board, making the Catalyst the ideal practice platform. The three-stage power reduction including speaker muting also plays an important role here, as both recordings and practice sessions can take place at any time of day or night without any problems.
Deep-level editing via the Catalyst Edit app
If you want to get the full potential out of your Catalyst CX, the Cataylst Edit App gives you full control over all settings and parameters. The software editor, which is available for PCs and Macs as well as iOS and Android devices, is simply connected via USB and can be used to precisely adjust amp sounds to your own sound preferences, give effects the finishing touches and much more. The Catalyst Edit app also makes it easy to edit presets for later use.
