I think these are great pickups for the money - clear and distinctive sound - the tele bridge version being a bit harder sounding due to the ceramic magnets (but they balance volume wise well with the neck version) - only dropped one star as I feel a hand wound option might open up the sound a bit more and add some of those 'original' microphonics!

Excellent match for a neck mini humbucker in a telecaster
I had trouble matching in terms of both tonality and output, a neck Seymour Duncan SM3 with the other boutique pickup in my main telecaster. As the guitar is equipped with 500k pots the boutique single coil pickup I had in the bridge position sounded weak and harsh. I didn't want to change the pots or electronics of the guitars as I like the sound of the neck pickup. As another review mentioned that this pickup works well with 500k pots, I decided to give it a go and oh boy was that a good decision! This pickup is more than a match for the mini humbucker with that extra mids and controlled low-end that help cut through the mix and no harshness in the highs. Not exactly the typical telecaster tone but it retains some of that much-beloved twang. Both clean and overdrive sounds are great. Construction quality is good and the pickup is visually striking. Beware that the magnet extends well below the pickup baseplate so it might be a problem to install in a very shallow bridge cavity. I am very happy with the purchase and would like to thank reviewer monolow for the great tip about the pots value.
