Soma The Pipe white is a very dynamic and expressive playable synthesizer and effects processor controlled by the voice, breath and mouth movement. The digital synthesizer transforms speech, singing, breathing, humming or beatboxing into bass, lead sounds, rhythms and abstract soundscapes. This makes Soma The Pipe white clearly different from a vocoder and creates itself a unique selling point. The twelve algorithms Orpheus, Filterra, Synth, Reverb, Madelay, Pulse, Bassdrum (three variants), Octava, Generator and Harcho have been optimized especially for use with the microphone and offer an incredible sound spectrum. Besides volume and algorithm, there are only three knobs and four buttons with which The Pipe is played.
For operation, The Pipe has to be connected to the breakout box, which has a stereo jack output (6.3 mm) and the connection for the power supply. The box, the four-pin XLR connection cable and the power supply are also included.
Two replacement microphones are offered as optional accessories, each optimized for low or high frequency ranges. The algorithms have a stronger effect on the sound depending on the type of microphone used.
If you disconnect the microphone, a normal 6.3 mm jack mono cable can be connected to The Pipe and any instrument such as a drum machine. Instead of the voice, it is now the external signal that is processed by the twelve algorithms. Again, the possibilities go far beyond most known effect units.
