ÓlafurArnalds Chamber Evolutions is an innovative virtual instrument specifically designed to create atmospheric and ever-changing string sounds. A 4,3,3,3,3 chamber ensemble was recorded at the renowned AIR Studios in London, known for its world-class acoustics. Using Evo Grid technology, the instrument allows the selection and control of evolutionary string sounds that develop and change organically. These sounds, known as 'Evos', are controlled across different pitches and registers to create a dynamic and versatile soundscape.
Another feature of the library are the "waves" - pre-recorded dynamic arcs that gently swell and fade away. This makes it easy to create complex crescendos and decrescendos. The 15,156 included samples include various microphone positions such as Close, Stereo, Tree and Ambient, all of which can be controlled via an integrated mixer to optimally adjust the spatial sound. Furthermore, the library offers detailed control over individual evolutions and a range of presets that can be adapted to the specific requirements of composers.
The library requires the free Kontakt Player and is fully compatible with the NKS standard, allowing it to integrate seamlessly with Native Instruments hardware. With a memory footprint of 19.4 GB, the instrument offers a wide selection of high-quality sound textures that are ideal for film, television and media compositions.
