Yamaha's FS series represent the compact concert design of the Japanese manufacturer and have received some useful updates with the 800 generation. First, the conventional bracing was reworked and tapered at essential points. This so-called "Scalloped Bracing", in combination with a wafer-thin finish, provides a more intense sound image with improved resonance and radiance.
Solid spruce and a resonance body made of Nato and Okume provide the popular sound with strong trebles and an extra portion of mids. Further features of the classic Western include solid die-cast mechanisms and a pickguard in Tortoise pattern look.
