AKAI Professional MPD226

The Akai MPD226 is an USB MIDI controller with 16 touch- and velocity-sensitive MPC pads with 4 banks. In addition to this there are 4 assignable Q-link faders, potentiometers and buttons that provide 3 banks each and can be appropriated several times because of the Q-link function. That means you gain access to a huge amount of controlling hardware to adjust it by your personal preferences. An optical highlight are theb which is not just fantastic looking, it is also very practical if you want to play in a bad light environmet.

In terms of connectivity the MPD226 is his little brother, the Akai MPD218, one step ahead. It comes with 3,5mm Jack MIDI in- and output for controlling extern hard- and software. The USB port is class compliant for iOS device compatibility and the Akai MPD226 has an input for a DC power supply. So all in all the MPD226 is a very versatile hardware controller that can be used for a wide variety of applications.

Akai have added iOS compatibility using the Camera Connection Kit (sold separately) and included a ton of free software including Akai Pro MPC Essentials, Big Bang Drums and Big Bang Cinema from Sonivox, Ableton Live Lite, and Software Preset. The aforementioned Software Preset Editor allows you to enjoy intuitive control editing right from the front panel of the MPD226.
