Black Lion Audio provides with the Seventeen FET Compressor a flexible tool for dynamic processing. Connoisseurs may confuse it with an old classic, but the compressor is equipped with some special features that would normally pass as custom upgrades. This includes a frequency-dependent sidechaining, separate and selectable highpass and lowpass filters as well as a wet/dry mix button for parallel compression. Together with the standard functions of a compressor, a banquet of sounds is served, which is difficult to reconstruct with other Dynamics hardware. Of course, a stereo link function is also built in to merge two units - you can't really say no to that price!
What else does the Seventeen have to offer?
Every studio needs a good limiter - by chance Black Lion Audio's Seventeen is inspired by the mother of all FET limiters and delivers incredibly fast attack/release times as well as a discrete signal path that provides a transparent overall picture. Whether a light sound is desired or hot signals are handled - this lion is ready for anything. Bass, kick drums, guitars, pianos, vocals and many other instruments benefit from the rich sound of this compressor, while the Mix/Wet control always creates a perfect blend between the dry and compressed signal.
With regard to the housing, only 2 height units are required in the rack. The Seventeen is connected via the XLR input and a standard IEC AC power cable.
