The AUX Oscillator Card expands the Buchla synthesizers Easel Command, Music Easel Modern & Retro and 208C with an additional mod oscillator, a CV multiplier and a random pulse input. The mod oscillator responds to either the CV-In, Sequencer or Pressure voltage sources. There are two frequency ranges and the LFO mode can also be covered. The variable waveform is continuously adjustable from sine to sawtooth and pulse to square. The mix control fades between the oscillator and a noise generator. With the noise generator, noisy percussions such as snare or hi-hat or roughened basses from subtractive sound generation are finally possible. Each of the four main parameters has its own CV input. The CV multiplier, also known as a ring modulator, simultaneously derives the sum and difference of two different signals to produce the familiar metallic sounds. The circuit also works with control voltages; an envelope and an LFO at the inputs provide interesting new modulations. The pulse input can be switched to the sequencer, envelope or Random destinations.
