With the Nyx V2 Dreadbox its compact Desktop Synthesizer and several extensions in the larger case. The two-part paraphonically playable Analog Synth shines with a continuous analog signal path and an almost open modulation routing except for the newly developed reverb.
The two tone generators deliver sawtooth and rectangle respectively sawtooth and triangle waveforms. Volume and Glide (Portamento) are individually adjusted VCO by faders.
The built-in Dual Filter one can be flexibly adapted to cover a wider spectrum. As a resonant multimode filter, it covers lowpass, bandpass and highpass and can generate interesting filter combinations in dual mode. This Dual Filter can also be taken from the signal path, assigned separately for each oscillator, for both at the same time or only set to VCO 1.
So that the sound lives and radiates dynamics, the Nyx V2 has Dreadbox three envelopes with rise/fall/hold characteristics, two of which can be switched to one LFO mode, the third is firmly VCA coupled to the one that can be switched on for drone sounds. A LFO triangle waveform modulator is available as a fourth modulator.
Instead of less given modulations in Nyx V2 you have the task to create the modulations according to your needs. No less than 30 patch points for audio/CV/gate inputs and outputs, including a mixer section, give free rein to your creativity: for example, whether you "bombard" the filter with two envelopes at the same time or diffract the pitch of VCO2 using a modulation wheel from a connected MIDI keyboard, Nyx is unaware of boredom. At this point it should also be mentioned that the Synth understands itself optimally with voltages and levels from a modular system, which clearly increases the possibilities in advanced sound research.
The last element in the signal path is the reverb effect, which is digitally implemented and has its own LFO waveform. Ideal for ambient sounds and an acoustic journey through space and time.
