The Epiphone J-200 EC Studio VS Lefthand is based on the famous flat-top classic from Gibson. Since the late 1930s, this extensive acoustic guitar has been delighting audiences with its warm and wide-ranging sound, which is perfectly suited for vocal accompaniment. A solid top, decorated with the characteristic tortoise pickguard with floral ornaments, ensures a fast sound development. The flat neck and a generous cutaway promise excellent playability at all frets, while the compensated bridge inlay and finely notched nut ensure clean intonation. The large headstock features gold die-cast tuners for easy and precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. To make the guitar suitable for stage use, an active pickup system with side preamp is built into the body, which transmits the acoustic sound unaltered to the respective amplifier. The instrument is rounded off by a thin high-gloss finish.
For an authentic appearance, the Epiphone J-200 EC Studio is equipped with a detailed set of features

Construction and woods
To enable the huge acoustic guitar to produce clear midrange and fine treble frequencies, the top is made of solid spruce. Meanwhile, laminated maple back and sides enrich the sound with warm bass frequencies that spread quickly and extensively. Thanks to a flat 1960 slim taper D profile, the maple neck is very easy to handle. The Pau-Ferro fingerboard gets optimized access to all 20 frets through the Cutaway, making fingering a breeze even in the higher registers.
The long headstock with gold-plated Grover die-cast tuners
Hardware and design
To ensure clean intonation throughout the 648 mm scale length, the bridge inlay is made of GraphTech TUSQ and the 42.7 mm wide nut is made of PVC and perfectly matched. The gold Grover tuners also allow for precise tuning of the strings. The fretboard features eye-catching crown inlays that mark the most important of the 20 frets. The individual components of the instrument are bordered by cream-coloured bindings that round out the overall look.
The Fishman Presys pickup system is perfectly equipped
Electronics
The extensive pickup system ofFishman transports the acoustic sound also amplified very true to the original. With the help of the Preamps, the output signal can be adjusted individually. Thus, a 3-band equalizer allows the tuning of the bass, mid and treble frequencies and the volume pot the volume. In addition, the Fishman Presys system is equipped with a handy tuner, which displays the respective pitch on a Display. The active pickup is powered by a 9V block battery.
This Epiphone EJ-200SCE is a truly beautiful guitar that is very comfortable to play. The build quality is good (crown inlays, moustache bridge, Grover tuners etc.), the finish is beautiful, and feel is excellent. It comes set up from factory with D'addario phosphor bronze light strings.
Acoustically the jumbo body brings out a deep and rich sound. The shadow pre-amp has both a magnetic pickup as on electric guitars and a piezo pickup for acoustics. Both pickups can be balanced with each other or be used separately. Plugged or unplugged this guitar is worth the price and I am very happy I got it.
Also, what's not to love, that the guitar is checked, adjusted and tuned by Music Store before shipping.

Beautiful looking guitar, lovely mellow sound, although for a jumbo guitar, not a lot of volume on the bass side.quality build. Overall very pleased. Unfortunately the guitar I received, was different from the one I ordered, as it came equipped with a Fishman Presys, pickup/ pre-amp, rather than the Esonic2 as advertised.

This is a great looking guitar and it sounds as good as it looks. The finish on this guitar is beautiful and it plays really good. Haven’t tried it plugged in yet as it’s loud enough without.

This Guitar is very well put together and produces a lovely tone. It also represents excellent value for money compared with other considerably more expensive brands. It’s also a thing of beauty and is finished to a high standard as well as being a great musical instrument. Highly recommended.
