Fame handpan with logo and bottom notes
Steel handpan from Fame with bottom notes
The Fame Custom Handpan Morning Sun D-Kurd is a noble handpan made of steel in the Morning Sun Finish with an appealing sun pattern. It has twelve tones and produces a balanced and powerful sound at 440 Hz. The Fame handpan is played with the fingers by striking the differently tuned playing surfaces. The diameter of the handpan is 22" (55 cm), so it can be played comfortably on the lap. The D-curve of the Fame handpan comes with the following notes: D3/A/BB3/C4/D/E/F/G/A/C5//F3/G3. The last two notes, i.e. F3 and G3, come as bottom notes, i.e. they are located on the undersideof the handpan shell. This allows for a creative playing style. The meditative, calming tone can be used for therapeutic purposes as well as for meditation. A bag is included in the scope of delivery.
These B-goods are usually instruments that exhibit what is known as "crosstalk behavior". The playing of a low tone of the pan (e.g. the thing in "D3") stimulates a harmonically corresponding high tone ("D4" or "A4") to resonate. This crosstalk has no effect on the overall tuning, which is also checked for these pans and therefore rated as clean.
Custom handpan from Fame in 440 Hz
The central fundamental tone is in the middle of the handpan, surrounded in a circle by a choir of sound fields. The individual playing surfaces are under pressure and are tuned by hand to 440 Hz; if the sound fields are now struck briefly with the finger, the entire handpan is set in vibration and a linear, spherical tone with singing sustain is produced. This model has two additional bottom notes on the underside.
Detailed quality check by our handpan expert
Like all Fame handpans, every handpan is checked for workmanship and sound quality before delivery and then given our quality seal. Since these are instruments with a high proportion of handwork, slight color deviations compared to the product image are possible.
The technique of playing a handpan is comparatively simple to learn: the playing surface is struck briefly with the fingertip, the faster the hand is then pulled away, the more beautiful the sound produced. Our product specialist Christian aka "Mister Handpan" shows further steps for learning to play the handpan in his tutorials on the MUSIC STORE Youtube Channel.
