The KaP1 from Kurzweil is a portable stage piano with an elegant appearance. The 88 weighted keys with hammer action and adjustable touch dynamics (H1 Ivory) offer an extremely authentic playing feel. The polyphony is set high at 256 voices, so that even when playing fast in duets, no fading note is swallowed. The 28 sounds from Kurzweil's latest KORE 2.0 sound engine offer a variety of high-quality piano sounds and a good all-round sound for different genres such as eg. classical, pop or jazz. With the reverb, Chorus and equalizer effects, there are a few options to choose from to better adapt the sounds to the arrangement and/or the spatial situation. The keyboard offers the modes Layer, Split and Dual, so it is possible to layer two sounds on top of each other (Layer), to play a second sound in the lower keyboard area with the left hand (Split) or to halve the keyboard and play two on the instrument (Dual). The integrated metronome is perfect for practicing or as a guide for the band. The single-track recording function, which can also function as a third and fourth hand on the instrument, is also ideal for practicing and storing ideas. The 30-watt Stereo sound system with two loudspeakers each for the left and right side, which are designed for two different frequency ranges, reproduce the sounds of the KaP1 authentically and are convincing in terms of sound.
Professional connections
In addition to the input for the power supply unit, there are connections for a soft/sostenuto pedal and the sustain pedal supplied. The stereo output connects the instrument to a mixing console, an audio interface or a sound system. The headphone output allows undisturbed playing and practicing at any time of day or night. A smartphone or CD player can be connected to the aux input and the music can be played through the built-in speakers. The KaP1 can be connected to a computer via the USB port and used as a master keyboard with music software (DAW). USB audio is also integrated, so the playing on the instrument can be recorded directly as a stereo track on the computer. Thanks to the implemented Bluetooth 5.2 interface, MIDI and audio are supported in both directions. This means you can practice wirelessly on a tablet with a learning app, use the KaP1 as a speaker for your smartphone or record a new piano riff in the DAW from the other corner of the room.
