An active 3-band tone control is also available for adjusting the sound. When designing the Sterling 4, Music Man paid special attention to lively sound characteristics and a high level of playing comfort. Accordingly, the body, which is significantly smaller than that of the StingRay, is made of carefully selected hardwood and nestles comfortably against the player. In addition, the five-screw maple neck feels especially comfortable in the hand thanks to the silky oil-wax finish, so that every groove comes off with ease on the 22-fret maple fingerboard.

Flexible sound with ceramic humbucker and active EQ
The electrical sound conversion of the Music Man Sterling 4 MN Powder Blue takes over a Music Man ceramic humbucker placed in the usual sweet spot, whose coils can be called up in different combinations by means of a 3-way switch. In addition to the balanced parallel circuit and the powerful power sound of the serially connected coils, transparent and dynamic single-coil sounds are available, which remain free of unwanted noise thanks to the phantom coil. For precise adjustment of the bass sound, an active 3-band tone control is also on board.
