With the Nux Pedals NGS-6 Amp Academy, the up-and-coming effects company sends a practical all-around solution for all guitarists who want to create their sound exclusively via their Pedalboard and prepare it for direct recording. Based on the TSAC-2K modelling engine with powerful NXP RT DSP, the practical modelling Preamp in a pedal format not only offers nearly latency-free performance, but also six detailed simulations of legendary guitar amps including matching cabinets. Furthermore, a number of basic effects are available for fine-tuning the sound, and presets with multiple scenes can be saved. The free Amp Academy Edit software also provides in-depth editing and sound options. Last but not least, a USB audio interface, an insert path for effect devices, a balanced XLR Output as well as a headphone jack and Aux-In complete the NGS-6 Amp Academy pedal from Nux.
Despite the wide range of sound options, the Nux Pedals NGS-6 Amp Academy is quick and intuitive to set up.
Six amp models for flexible sounds
At the heart of the Nux Amp Academy modelling pedal is a powerful NXP RT premium DSP for the TSAC-2K modelling engine, which not only delivers highly detailed amp simulations but also promises an immediate and natural playing feel with just 1.2 ms latency. A total of six lovingly crafted simulations of legendary guitar amps are available, leaving no sound to wish unfulfilled, whether traditional vintage clean, dynamic Brit overdrive or juicy high-gain metal distortion. Impulse response speaker simulations promise an organic sound, while the integrated boosters, reverbs and noise gate help to fine-tune your personal sound. When the Nux Pedals NGS-6 Amp Academy is connected to the free Amp Academy Edit software via the USB-C port, additional in-depth editing options for each Preset are available.
Extensive connections
As the sound centre for the Pedalboard, the Nux Pedals NGS-6 Amp Academy also offers a wide range of connections that allow the pedal to be seamlessly integrated into live and recording environments. The insert connector allows the integration of additional effects devices for sound shaping, while the classic jack output routes the signal to power amps or amplifiers with or without speaker simulation. The balanced XLR Out can also be used to send the signal to mixing consoles or recording equipment for direct pickup. In addition to the USB-C port for the integrated audio interface, firmware updates and the connection to the Amp Academy software, the pedal also offers an aux-in and a headphone jack for the output of backing tracks and silent electric guitar playing, respectively.
All connections of the Nux Amp Academy are located in a clear arrangement on the front and left side of the pedal.
Good sounding unit, there is body in the sound. Clear and bold. Easy to use. Will fit in your guitar case easily. Good value for the money. I hade problem with loading in IR´s, NUX customer support did help me to solve the problem. Well done NUX.
