The Phoenix Audio Nicerizer 16MKII is a 16-channel line mixer with a natural habitat between analog equipment and digital converters. Unlike other summers, the Nicerizer does not have volume controls and instead allows stereo placement of each individual channel. Finally, in the Master section, the overall volume can be adjusted to the input of the converter and optionally the stereo width of the sum can be narrowed or expanded. For this purpose, the Nicerizer uses a sophisticated center-side matrix.
In addition to the obligatory master insert, this summing device has a level-adjustable aux output and a 2-track input. Every single signal can be selected on the front panel and can be picked up via the headphone output.
The Phoenix Audio Nicerizer 16MKII enhances any hybrid setup with its silky vintage sound and represents a space-saving, extremely high-quality alternative to an analog mixing console. At the same time, with its monitor path, master insert and aux path, it offers exactly those features that are necessary for compatibility with the analog world and direct listening. Its transformerless, balanced inputs guarantee a clean signal transmission, while the custom transformers in the summing stage produce specific harmonics and glue the audio material together. This makes it suitable for the successful conclusion of post-production, for traditional mastering as well as for working with stems.
