Modular Monday: Flipping Samples on the Squarp Rample
The Squarp Instruments Rample
Squarp Instruments Rample is a four-voice polyphonic sample player with an impressive feature set. The module grants access to up to 2600 kits via MicroSD card, each containing four sounds with their settings. Whether short percussion sounds, breakbeat loops or minute-long sound clusters are played, all no problem for Rample. It is also possible to layer each of the four tracks twelve times; so in total 48 samples are possible at the same time; but still four-voiced. Each track is equipped with five audio effects: a pitch shifter with one octave range up and down, bitcrusher, lowpass/highpass filter, freeze (perfect for glitch sounds) and volume as a separate parameter. Thanks to the four CV inputs, the sounds to be played really come to life! As an alternative to CV/gate control, the module can be extensively controlled via MIDI. One MIDI jack adapter and one stereo jack to stereo jack adapter each are included. This way polyphonic Rample combinations with 8, 12, 16 or more voices can be realized.
This module is awesome, the options and amount of storage for your own samples is exactly want I wanted to create my own synthesised sounds and field recordings to run through my modular system. Serious fun and loads of scope for endless possibilities.
