The microphone capsule incorporates a special blast/pop protection plate to shield the diaphragm from excessive sound pressure levels.

Great little microphone, I have both the cable and Evolution wireless versions of the 865 capsule and it's just excellent, my favourite mic. Sounds detailed, takes a lot of SPL and is made to last.
