The Sonor ASX 1.1 DE SMART Xylophone is a space-saving alto xylophone with sound plates made of FSC-certified Pao Rosa, an African wood with very good sound characteristics. The 16 individually tuned bars form a C major scale with a range from c1 to a2. Alternatively, with the enclosed f#1, bb1 and f#2 sound plates, other scales can be formed, e.g. F major or G major. The additional tone plates can be stored in the resonance box itself, a flap on its side makes this possible. This space-saving design philosophy also applies to the rest of the instrument. On the sides, for example, there are mounts for the fold-out feet, so that several baton sticks can be stacked without the instruments slipping or the sound plates being strained. A pair of Sonor SCH23 felt mallets is also included.
With the new SMART series SONOR sets innovative standards in sound, functionality and design. Everyday life with Orff instruments is made noticeably easier. The instruments impress with their easy transportability, an integrated storage compartment, a break-proof peg system for fastening the sound plates, fold-out feet and a stacking function. At the same time, the compact baton instruments offer optimum playing comfort and an inspiring sound experience thanks to precisely tuned sound plates in proven SONOR quality and scientifically optimised resonance chambers. The acronym SMART stands for: Stackable; Mobile and Multifunctional; Acoustically Optimized; Refined and Space Saving; Top Design and Transportable.
