Sterling by Music Man JP160: Roasted Maple Neck and high playing comfort
The most striking feature of the Sterling by Music Man JP160 is undoubtedly the fivefold screwed neck made of thermally treated maple. By "baking" the neck blank in a vacuum, Roasted Maple loses a large part of its residual moisture, making the wood more stable and insensitive to climate fluctuations. Thanks to the flat D-profile and the matt back, the neck also offers the perfect basis for virtuoso electric guitar playing, which is supported by the pronounced forearm contour of the mahogany body.
Humbucker pickups with active boost, double locking tremolo
Two hot humbuckers are used as pickups on the SBMM John Petrucci JP160, whose precisely defined sound stages virtuoso solos just as skilfully as tight riffs and cleanly played melodies or arpeggios. In addition, the electric guitar offers an active boost that boosts the signal by 12 dB, releasing additional volume and gain reserves. With the classic double locking tremolo, virtuoso Whammy Bar actions such as squeals or dive bombs can be performed without affecting the tuning of the guitar.
