The TipTop Audio Model 264t Quad Sample and Hold in detail
TipTop Audio has collaborated with Buchla to create a fully Eurorack-compatible version of the quad Sample & Hold 264. The module contains four independent Sample & Hold circuits, which can be switched to Track & Hold as required. In addition, a special logic circuit ensures appropriate implementation in polyphonic patches. The pulse inputs can be patched to Gate a sequencer or MIDI-to-CV/Gate interface, an LFO with square waveform or a clock output. The CV inputs accept any control voltage or noise source. From these two inputs, the module generates the stepped S&H or T&H voltages. In separate mode, four individual S&H voltages are output at the outputs; in common mode, one S&H is copied to the four outputs. The number of active S&H channels (2, 3 or 4) is initially defined with the polyphonic inputs; these inputs can be switched through cyclically and repeatedly with the corresponding pulse input. The four CV outputs are internally normalized to the four ART outputs. A four-channel quantizer works in between for use with ART oscillators such as the 259t Complex Oscillator. A 12-position switch selects the key, while the control above it selects the scale: Minor (m), Chromatic (ch), or Major (M).
