Behringer CP1-A PSU at a glance
The CP1-A PSU from Behringer is a power module for the Eurorack Modular System. It provides +12 V: 1000 mA / -12V: 1000 mA / 5V: 500 mA and holds connections for 14Module via FlyingBus ready. The power supply is included in the delivery.
The modular system once developed by Robert "Bob" Moog, including its development process, went through a long production period between 1964 and 1981. At that time, the novel, electronic instrument was an avant-garde pioneering work that still had to be explained to the public; but eventually found more and more interested parties. Behringer has transferred the generously dimensioned dimensions to the compact Eurorack format and paid close attention to the fact that sound and function are in no way inferior to the cult object.
Trying to save money while starting with eurorack I considered building my own power supply after looking at the cost of commercial offerings. After looking at several designs I decided the cost of parts was on par with the Behringer and it was a no brainer to purchase the CP1 - it provides all of my supply needs and the build quality looks and feels good with adequate supply current of 1Amp per 12 volt rails and 500mA 5 Volt rail.
