Electric guitar from Epiphone
As a founding member of the band ELLEGARDEN, Shinichi Ubukata is not only an integral part of the J-rock scene as a guitarist and songwriter, but is also known beyond the borders of Japan. With the Epiphone Shinichi Ubukata ES-355 Custom, Epiphone now presents an impressive copy of his own semi-hollow guitar, which has accompanied him throughout his three-decade career as a musician. The premium version of the ES-335 features unique design appointments, two genuine Gibson USA humbuckers with iconic VariTone switching and a classic Bigsby vibrato system. Furthermore, the Epiphone Shinichi Ubukata ES-355 Custom Sixties Cherry comes in a matching hardshell Case.
The Epiphone Shinichi Ubukata ES-355 Custom Sixties Cherry is the signature instrument of Japanese songwriter and ELLEGARDEN guitarist Shinichi Ubukata.
Gibson '57 Classic humbucker & VariTone Switch
Two Gibson '57 Classic humbuckers are used to create powerful riffs and expressive leads. The double coilers, familiar from the USA models of the traditional manufacturer Gibson, offer a balanced output that provides enough power for juicy rock riffs without sacrificing dynamic range. In addition to the dual volume and tone controls, the Epiphone Shinichi Ubukata ES-355 Custom Sixties Cherry furthermore offers a VariTone switch with six positions, which can be used to select several capacitors for flexible treble roll-offs.
Bigsby B-70 Vibrato & Grover tuners
As a special highlight for fans of shimmering vintage sound effects, the Epiphone Shinichi Ubukata ES-355 Custom Sixties Cherry relies on the tried-and-tested combination of a LockTone Tune-o-Matic bridge and a Bigsby B-70 vibrato. The former, with its locking function, ensures improved resonance transmission into the body made of maple and poplar laminate, while the Bigsby system with pressure roller provides additional playing possibilities. The hardware features of this signature model are rounded off by six genuine Grover Rotomatic tuners on the headstock.
