The Fame JTA-05 Sweet Baby Guitar Valve Amplifier Combo is a 5W guitar valve amplifier combo, with a 1x 8" Celestion speaker, class A, a 12AX7 preamp tube, a 6V6GT power tube, and a 5AR4 rectifier tube. In the tradition of small tube amplifiers of the 50s, the Sweet Baby from Fame offers a huge range of classic sounds. Especially in the studio, small amplifiers can be very useful as the full range of their tonal dynamics can be exploited at humane volume levels. The volume reserves are more than enough for spontaneous jam sessions and even small gigs. Equipped with a volume control, a wide range of sounds can be generated with the volume and tone knobs of the guitar.

This is in reality a Joyo JTA-05 just rebranded. They also put better tubes and a better speaker in it, which impressed me.
If you are looking for a cheap 5F1 circuit amp that you can easily modify to your liking and don't necessarily want to build your own from scratch, this amp is excellent.
Everything is standard in it, so if you want to replace tubes or speaker, it's easy. You can even remove the amp chassie and put it in a different cabinet if you prefer another look.
The power transformer used is also a good one and it will cope with tube changes (like the rectifier) that will draw more current.
My only (extremely small) concern is the quality of the screws. The metall is very soft making them wear quickly, especially when rolling tubes.
All in all, I'm ecstatic at the tone, price and build quality.
Glue had to be cleaned off adjacent to the Fame logo plate; otherwise it is exactly a well made example of the all-valve design of the '50's.
i ordered this mainly for being just about only all valve amp(with tube rectifier) in this price range. i have absolutely nothing bad to say about this. i changed tubes and i probably change speaker or buy cabinet for this, but there´s nothing really wrong with speaker in this, just not my cup of tea. all in all, i think you will not find better amp in this price range. i recommend this to, well everybody. and this is mod friendly if that´s what you want
The sound is brilliant, I instantly loved the amp, very complement to my telecaster for rock tones. Despite the one knob the reatures are sufficient, it is all you need. The build quality is quite low, tolex was leaning off the chasis, residual glue was not cleaned from the logo so it was sticky. However the deal breaker was very high constant hum when the amp runs, which got very loud once you started to increase the volume. For bedroom practice or gigs unusable. For this reason I had to return it back, what a pity!
First impressions are that it's a lovely sounding amp. From a distance it looks great as well but up close it's apparent that this amp is very cheaply made with all of the faults mentioned above: glue residue around nameplate, cloth not stuck down very well and cheap handle/fittings. These faults mean little however when weighed against the sound - lovely!
A word of warning for UK customers though, this comes fitted with a continental-style plug so you'll need an adaptor, as changing the plug might void the warranty.
Also be aware that this amp NEEDS to be earthed or it'll hum like a fool! Here's a link for an adaptor which, in my case, reduced the hum to nearly zero. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Power-Connections-SCP3-Round-Body-Euro-Plug-to-UK-Plug-Adapter-/331309114315
When the warranty runs out a few mods would, i think, be an improvement. A different handle would be welcome as it's fairly heavy and there's plenty of room in the cabinet for a 10in speaker or maybe even a 12in.
