With the Gibson 50th Anniversary 1968 Les Paul Goldtop the Gibson Custom Shop presents an authentic new edition of the 1968 Goldtop Reissue. The traditional American company tried to meet the demand for the classic single-cut model, which was rekindled by countless guitar heroes of the time. Gibson relies on the historically correct construction with mahogany body, maple top and glued mahogany neck including rosewood fingerboard. In addition, two Gibson Custom P-90 single-coil pickups promise authentic vintage sounds between blues and rock. Of course, the Gibson 50th Anniversary 1968 Les Paul Goldtop is equipped with an ABR-1 bridge, an aluminum stopbar and Kluson Deluxe tuners.

Accordingly, the electric guitar has a one-piece body made of light mahogany with a two-piece maple top, while the mahogany neck features a sound-enhancing long neck base and a rosewood fingerboard. Here the use of Hide-Glue for the wood joints promises a lively and even sound development. With the rounded "Medium Chunky C" neck profile and the usual 12" fretboard radius, the electric guitar also offers optimal playing characteristics.

Two Gibson Custom P-90 single-coil pickups are used as pickups on the Gibson 50th Anniversary 1968 Les Paul Goldtop. Equipped with authentic Alnico magnets, the pickups deliver an extremely powerful sound with a wide mid-range spectrum and sparkling dynamics, expressive and assertive in the implementation of the classic riffs and licks of rock or blues. A hand-wired 3-way circuit with high quality potentiometers from CTS and authentic "Black Beauty" capacitors manages the pickups and allows precise sound adjustment with harmonic treble roll-offs.
