With the Gibson SJ-200 Western Classic acoustic guitar in the huge super jumbo format, the traditional manufacturer from Bozeman in Montana presents one of its famous custom shop creations, which, in addition to numerous ornaments, features high-quality, carefully seasoned materials and a powerful sound that fully lives up to the name "King or the Flat- Tops".
The Custom Shop version features a fine-grained Sitka spruce top, which, in combination with a flat scalloped X-bracing and a very thin nitro finish, provides a clear and fast sound development. To enrich the tone with expressive bass frequencies, the back and sides are made of rosewood, which provides the instrument with an all-over saturation. A round, two-piece maple neck with an ebony fingerboard also provides exceptionally accommodating playability across all 20 frets, which are marked with intricate mother-of-pearl block inlays and intonate cleanly thanks to a 42.8mm-wide bone nut and corresponding compensated saddle.
