Extension for the Field Kit
The KOMA Electronics Field Kit Expansion Pack offers a selection of different tools that can be connected to the Field Kit, the electro-acoustic workstation for experimental sounds. Among them are:
1x DC motor that rotates objects or can be used as an oscillator in conjunction with the pickup
1x solenoid with push-pull motor to "strike" objects
2x contact microphones, which record vibrations and sound
1x electromagnetic pickup, which registers and amplifies changes of a magnetic field, for example with a vibrating string
1x speaker to listen to the main mix or as a sound source for feedback sounds
You could probably collect together the content of this add-on pack for less money than this but I was more than happy to buy them from here and support Koma, in my opinion a great sound tools developer. Thanks Koma for this unique product!
This is an interesting selection of devices which work with the field kit, allowing both inputs from non-musical source and outputs to non-musical sources. Field recordings and the control of machinery and the like are all possible with this kit. The contact mikes take a bit of work to understand but everything else is very straightforward and the instruction manual for the Field Kit gives some suggestions for how to use everything here.
