The Manley Force 4-Channel Microphone Preamp provides users with four channels of vacuum tube microphone preamp that’s been extracted from the hugely popular and award winning Manley Core. An ergonomic facia with thoughtfully organised controls are where your relationship with the Force begins.
With silky smooth and bulletproof rotary potentiometers and positive latching feature switches housed in an exquisitely gorgeous chassis, the Force feels like a truly premium device to use. Seven-way LED metering for each channel provides instant visible feedback for audio levels which are enhanced with a double-inlay CNC-milled accent.
Gold-plated XLR connectors are the first thing your microphone signals hit before going into Manley’s ‘MANLEY IRON’ Mic input transformer. Instruments including guitars and keyboards go into the 1/4" Hi-Z 10 megOhm jack inputs before hitting the input level control which also acts as a Variable Input Pad. 120Hz High Pass filters and Phase Reverse can be invoked in the circuit and then go into the 12AX7 dual triode amplifying stage operating in pure Class A. Furthermore, each channel features a 48V Phantom power switch.
Manley Labs have developed an innovative design for its power supply to be used specifically with this preamp’s high voltage vacuum tubes, and specifically for audio. This power supply provides 300 Volt DC rails to run the vacuum tubes, beefy 6 Volt lines to power them up, along with several other voltage rails for the phantom power and various solid-state control voltages. The universal mains input accepts any voltage or frequency from anywhere in the world making travel with the Force a breeze.
