Clara B+ is a powerful PCIe audio interface that has been specially developed for continuous operation in compact desktop and server housings. With a mix of high-quality analog and digital interfaces, switchable sample rate converters and versatile configurable levels, it offers a reliable solution for professional applications in broadcasting, mastering and studio use.
Analog and digital precision
The analog connections of the Clara B+ achieve excellent sound quality with 128 dB dynamic range. High-quality AD/DA converters ensure detailed signal conversion within a precisely tuned analog circuit. With levels of up to +24 dBu, the system offers sufficient headroom for professional use. The digital connections work with a maximum resolution of 24 bit / 192 kHz, while the analog connections even support up to 32 bit / 384 kHz.
Advanced digital signal processing
The switchable sample rate converters allow flexible adaptation of incoming digital signals to the system, regardless of sample rate and clock settings. This makes it easy to integrate digital devices without the need for separate synchronization lines. The integrated Beast DSP offers a powerful digital mixing console with 64 freely configurable channels, equalizers and flexible routing options.
Modular expansion with word clock and MIDI
The audio interface has an additional expansion card that provides a word clock input and output as well as two MIDI inputs and outputs. This extension is connected to the main card via a ribbon cable and can be placed in one of the slots of the computer housing in a versatile manner. This keeps the main card compact, while the additional connections provide extended synchronization and control options.
Efficient drivers and flexible connection
The Clara B+ supports multi-client drivers for ASIO 2.2, multi-channel WDM audio and WASAPI. These enable simultaneous use by multiple audio applications with minimal latency. The PCIe interface complies with PCI Express Base Specification 2.1 and uses a 1-lane slot for maximum compatibility. In addition, the system is compatible with common Thunderbolt PCIe adapters so that it can also be easily integrated into modern setups.
Robust design for continuous use
The low-profile design is ideal for server, mini and media housings; an additional long slot bracket for standard housings is also included. The automatic shutdown of the outputs at startup protects connected devices. With a permissible temperature range of -25 °C to +60 °C, the interface is also suitable for demanding environments.
