The Presonus AIR12 is a versatile, flexibly adaptable and easily portable 2-way active loudspeaker that is suitable for mobile applications and fixed installations thanks to its transparent, detailed sound.
Despite their compact dimensions and low weight, the AIR12 active loudspeakers deliver a powerful, extended bass range and natural-sounding treble in a cabinet that fits easily in the back of a small car. With (dynamic) class D/AB performance of 1,200 watts and intuitive digital tuning, it AIR12 delivers the power and functionality you need for mobile applications and fixed installations.
Each amplifier type has its advantages and disadvantages. By using different amplifiers for each driver, the AIR12 loudspeakers benefit from the strengths of the Class D and Class A/B amplifiers to achieve optimum response over the entire frequency range of the loudspeaker. A 500W (continuous) Class D amplifier feeds the 12" woofer driver and delivers efficient, distortion-free power that goes through Mark and through when needed. A 200 W (continuous operation) class A/B amplifier controls the 1.35" high frequency driver and provides a natural sounding, airy high-end range. In total, this combination delivers a sound pressure level of up to 123 dB SPL and ensures pleasant and distortion-free reproduction in the range from 51 Hz to 20 kHz.
The Presonus AIR12 speaker has an intuitive signal processor that allows you to optimally adjust the speakers at the touch of a button. Presets can be used to adjust the response of the AIR12 FOH sum, for controlling stage monitors, for pure music playback (e.g. for DJs), for extended bass playback and a warmer sound or for optimized speech intelligibility. Room modes can be balanced by up to +/-10 dB using treble and bass controls. With the help of location presets you can adjust the playback for use on tripods and wall mounts as well as for the flown installation.
The plastic housing Presonus AIR12 can be mounted in many different ways. The enclosure is designed for different application angles and equipped with non-slip rubber feet - on the underside for vertical installation as a PA loudspeaker and on one side for use as a stage monitor. Alternatively, you can fly the speaker over the M10 mounting points, mount it to a wall or bracket using a flange, or place it directly on the floor for mobile applications. Mount it on a tripod or on an AIR series subwoofer using an optional tripod rod. The integrated flange offers two positions and allows straight or 7.5° downward inclination. And thanks to the handle on the top, it is AIR12 particularly easy to transport.
The AIR Series full-range speakers have multiple inputs, making them ideal for use with a wide variety of sources. Two combo inputs with XLR microphone and TRS line jacks are available, each equipped with its own Class A microphone preamplifier and gain control. Signals from a smartphone, tablet and other consumer audio devices can be fed in via a stereophonic 3.5 mm jack connector. These signals can be mixed in the internal mixer of the AIR12 AIR and passed on to other AIR series speakers via the XLR mix output.
The combination of power amplifiers that combine the "best of both worlds", precisely tuned DSP presets, versatile mounting options, flexible connectivity with internal mixing, and other professional features make the PreSonus AIR Series an excellent choice for mobile and fixed installation applications. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to transport these affordable speakers. But the best thing about the AIR Series speakers is certainly their colourless, natural and airy sound.
