Presonus AudioBox USB Audio InterfaceBought it for my friend - beginner in music, so he is happy with it. He uses it for recording a voice via condenser mic. Audiobox has a nice sound for price, but there are some noises from preamp or other components. Howewer, you can fix this problem using active powered USB-hub.
This little thing is amazing. I recently bought it even tough i already have a better Interface, just so i can have one reliable interface to spare for my portable rig.
The sound is clear.. i cannot hear tone differences from other interfaces!
The casing is excellent: solid metal with rubber feet so it wont slip from the table.It is quite easy to operate, you just install the presonus audiobox driver (i advise you to download it from presonus because the one on the CD is probably outdated. From here it is quite easy.. and if you have any questions the manual will answer them easily.
One awesome thing i would like to point out is that, as many other professional units.. the headphones output does not cut the signal to the regular output when you connect the headphones plug. It is quite handy being able to leave the headphones plugged in and just turn two knobs to use the headphones.
The only flaw i see in this unit (if it is even a flaw) is the 1.1 USB system... with so many 2.0 devices out there, you can easily be put off by the 1.1 system in this one. DONT because 1.1 is more than capable of handling two inputs at the same time)
Is good for recording in your home or in a concert, comes with a good daw, is very versatil and the sound comes very crispy.
Just the thing i needed... for the Djent of my son and my afro-latin musics.
The thing i notice is that if you use it with cubase the input comes in just one sterio line and it chould come in bougth. If you know how to resolve this problem send a an reply please!!
This amazing audiobox is a low budget semi pro audio tool, with amazing capacity. Ive only came across one slight problem so far. if you want to use other software (e.g. Guitarbox FX) it will only recognize the input 1.
