The Echo Express SE I is a Thunderbolt-to-PCIe card expansion system from Sonnet with a single slot to connect a single PCIe card to your computer via a single cable. Whether it's Macs, Windows machines, or Linux systems, these slim marvels of technology can do a lot, but often lack PCIe expansion slots, which is why Sonnet is here to remedy the situation. Compact, lightweight, and full of performance, the Echo Express system takes your workflow to the next level while the built-in fan automatically provides ample cooling. Despite the massive power, the system remains surprisingly quiet and automatically shuts off when the computer shuts down.
Thanks to the two Thunderbolt ports, computers can be connected to up to five additional Thunderbolt-enabled devices. Along with speeds of up to 2750 MB/s PCIe bandwidth, 4k video capture and processing cards can be supported at high frame rates, as well as 16GB FC cards and dual-port 10GbE cards at full performance.
Scope of delivery:
The Echo Express SE I is designed to accommodate cards up to 7.75 inches long and measures a compact 5.6 inches wide, 8.6 inches long, and 3.5 inches tall. It has a small footprint, yet is large enough to support almost any Thunderbolt-compatible PCIe 3.0, PCIe 2.0, and PCIe 1.1 card.
Have a card in mind, but not sure if it's compatible. We've compiled a list in our Thunderbolt Compatibility Chart for Supporting PCIe Cards (PDF). There you'll find cards that meet the requirements of Thunderbolt technology and are sorted by compatibility with the expansion system in question.
