Tobinski LFOs in detail
The dual LFO module from Tobinski combines two different digital LFOs based on the popular Electric Druid codes. What both LFOs have in common is the high flexibility for mutual modulation of the parameters and two times 16 waveforms, which are divided into two sets of 8 waveforms each. The waveform sets partly overlap as far as the classic "analog waveforms" are concerned, but there are also a number of very special waveforms on offer. The parameters Shape, Freq, X Freq, Skew and Level can be set for each LFO. The Smoothing button provides waveform smoothing by smoothing corners and edges with a fixed value. The internal Crossmodulation between the two LFOs is also very interesting. Two modulation inputs each with switchable routing and attenuator can be modulated by the neighboring LFO or external control voltages. The left side corresponds to the TapLFO3C, which can be synchronized to a clock. The frequency control then functions as a multiplier/divider to cover the BPM ratios. The voltage range of LFO 1 can be switched between +/-5V or 0-10V. The right side is based on the LFO10 and is equipped with a reset input, which allows the LFO to be restarted with each gate signal. LFO 2 can alternatively be used as a sample & hold, in which case the 16 waveforms are used as a sample input.
