The Vox amPlug-3 series at a glance
The Vox amPlug-3 series represents the third Generation of extremely popular headphone amps from Vox, which are considered an absolute secret weapon thanks to their professional sound quality and can be found in the accessory compartment of many guitarists and bassists. The battery-powered headphone amps in an ultra-compact housing format are simply plugged into the jack socket of the instrument and played through standard headphones, making them ideal as practice amps on the go. In addition to the pure amplifier sound, the amPlug models also offer some useful onboard effects as well as a rhythm section and an aux input, which also enable practicing Drum grooves and backing tracks.
Vox amPlug 3 High Gain
The Vox amPlug 3 High Gain is aimed at the hard-n-heavy faction and impresses with the largest distortion reserves of the entire amPlug series. With a famous high-gain behemoth as a model, the compact amplifier produces clear and defined cleans in channel 1, while channel 2 produces an aggressive distortion sound that is ideal for modern metal and also copes well with the extended range of 7-strings and 8-strings. A chorus, adelay, and areverb are available as effects.
