The Art & Lutherie Roadhouse Havana Brown Q-Discrete Overview
The Art & Lutherie Roadhouse Havana Brown Q-Discretee produces an amazingly loud sound that comes through, especially in the midrange frequencies, thanks to the interplay of the compact parlor build, a solid top, and a paper-thin semi-gloss finish. At the same time, the shortened neck offers excellent playability in all 18 frets. With the help of the open tuners with 16:1 ratio, the instrument can be tuned very easily. To ensure that the Parlor guitar can also be used on stage without any problems, the in-house Q-Discrete pickup system is built into the body, the output signal of which can be individually adjusted via two pots on the top. Visually, the acoustic guitar is rounded off by the striking Havana Brown finish and the eye-catching Pearloid pickguard.
Structure and woods
In order for the tone to unfold quickly and extensively, the top is made of solid cedar. This additionally provides strong midrange as well as restrained treble frequencies, so that the Parlor guitar is excellently suited for Pickings. Back and sides made of laminated Canadian wild cherry enrich the sound with warm and subtle bass frequencies. The neck made of Silver-Leaf-Maple can be comfortably used on the entire rosewood fingerboard thanks to the neck/body junction at the 12th fret. The bridge is also made of rosewood.
Hardware and design
To ensure a clean intonation on the entire 631 mm scale length, the manufacturer relies on a compensated bridge inlay and a 44 mm wide nut made of GraphTech TUSQ, which are precisely matched to each other. furthermore, the tuners with brass hardware enable precise tuning. The fretboard has discreet dot inlays for orientation, which contrast the coarse grained wood in a very pleasant way. The top of the Art & Lutherie Roadhouse Havana Brown Q-Discrete is edged with a simple Binding, which is visually excellently matched to the single ring soundhole rosette and the Pickguard.
