The active subwoofer at a glance
The Behringer DR18SUB is an active 18" subwoofer with 2400 watts of power and an integrated stereo crossover for live and playback applications. The active sub features balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as optional output modes for different preferences. In Link mode, signals are passed to the full-range satellite speakers over the entire frequency range; in Xover mode, only signals above the cutoff frequency are sent to the satellite speakers. The cutoff frequency can also be switched between 90 Hz and 120 Hz with a switch. A Level knob controls the input gain, and the Phase switch reverses the output phase to compensate for frequency cancellation between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. LEDs indicate operating status at a glance, including power, signal present, and input overloads. An RMS and peak limiter, providing the ultimate in LF driver protection, rounds out this outstanding feature set.
The model can deliver extremely high sound pressure levels of up to 129 dB over a frequency range of 30 to 150 Hz.
