Cool stuff! Its really the ultimate portable keyboard, I used it with garageband on my IPad 1 and it worked flawlessly despite the low energy usb supply. Its construction permits all kind of transport situations and still its so thin that it fits anywhere.
I like the touch feel although the new bend pushbuttons take a while to be mastered.
Highly recommended!
Bought for mobile work. Price and weight that is necessary. I recommend! Yes, and the design is very pleasing. In apple style. Stylish enough product. Many different settings. Im pleased. And wish you the same!
The first unit sent to me had a metal piece shaking around inside the unit, which does not inspire confidence. There was also a key that occasionally stuck down. The second unit I was sent was far worse: five of the keys produced double-strokes (a midi note on when releasing the keys). With both units, the velocity curves had no consistency between keys. While it may look cool and slim, this is a very poorly manufactured device.
I am pleased to have bought it. It is what it says it is but a bit more. So, if you need some special features from it, you may well find what you need as it is possible to adapt the Xkey while using the free software.
Also, the sturdiness of it makes it quite a plus.
The key, although, not like a true keyboard, are large enough not to feel weird playing on it when you are used to play on hammered keys.
I managed quickly to use the change of pitch and the tremolo and the octave in a spontaneous manner.
I love to be able to control the touch sensitivity. Some music need a harder or softer touch. I did not expect any control for this. But it is there!
The aftertouch is a great plus too!
Very happy overall of this Xkey.
