Thick Soft V maple neck with satin finish
The Fender JV Modified '60s Custom Telecaster RW Firemist Gold relies on a beefy Fifties neck made of maple, whose Thick Soft V profile is modelled after the feel of classic Telecaster necks of the Fifties. Here, the Satin Finish on the back of the neck provides a comfortable thumb rest and smooth layer changes across all 21 frets in medium-jumbo format, while the modernized fingerboard radius of 9.5" skillfully underscores both confident chord playing and controlled bending.
To elicit additional tones from the Fender JV Modified '60s Custom Telecaster RW Firemist Gold that go beyond the familiar options of the Telecaster, the two vintage-style single coils used are classically wired, but can be switched to out-of-phase mode by operating the push/pull function of the second tone control. Thus, each of the four switch positions of the JV Modified '60s Custom Telecaster RW Firemist Gold offers an additional sound, which is expressed especially in serial connection of both single coils by a clear and pointed sound with characteristic 'quack'.
