For the construction of the Limited Edition Player Mustang BassFender relies on classic tonewoods in the form of an alder body and a bolt-on maple neck. Here, the short 30" scale length (762 mm) not only provides a buttery smooth playing feel due to the reduced string tension, but also the surprisingly sonorous sound of the four-stringer. The slim C-neck profile with a narrow 38 mm nut width also fits comfortably in the hand, so that every groove succeeds with ease on the 19-fret Pau Ferro fingerboard.
Split-coil and single-coil pickups with straightforward 3-way switching provide a rich sound spectrum.

At the bass amp, Mustang Bass 's popular PJ setup of a vintage-style split coil in the middle position and a vintage-style single coil at the bridge provides a versatile sound spectrum, ranging from a strong power sound with thrusting bass and low mids to an assertive tone with wiry presence. A straightforward, passive 3-way circuit with toggle switch, volume knob and treble slider allows full control over the sound of the electric bass guitar.
Four open-gear tuners provide stable and accurate tuning at the headstock of the Mustang Bass.
