The Golden Age Audio EQ-73 MkII is an EQ channel stripbased on the Neve 1073. The device has a graduated frequency control and a wide frequency range (20Hz to 24kHz) for processing audio signals. The "low" and "high" frequency bands of the EQ-73 MkII work with a shelving type, whereas the mid band is equipped with a bell filter. The control ranges of the LF and MF are -/+15dB and that of the HF is -/+18dB. A bypass switch on the front panel allows each band to be "taken out of the signal chain" individually, making A/B comparisons possible.
The EQ-73 MkII is designed to work with a device with unbalanced connections and a low level. If, for example, the Pre-73 Preamp from Golden Age Audio is connected to the EQ-73 MkII, this is done via the insert socket on the rear panel. It is also possible to install the Golden Age Audio EQ-73 MkII together with the Golden Age Audio Pre-73 Preamp in an optionally available rack kit in 19-inch format (1U). If the EQ-73 MkII is not connected to another device via the insert socket, it can also be used as a standalone equalizer.
