With the Markbass Ninja 102-500 Richard Bona Signature Combo the Italian amplifier company extends the successful Ninja series with a compact combo that fully convinces with its adult sound. Based on the ninja top part developed in close cooperation with Richard Bona, the combo with 500 watt output and two 10 inch loudspeakers delivers sufficient volume for rehearsals and club gigs, while the 4-band tone control with variable preshape filter and vintage loud speaker emulator provides a wide range of tone colours.
The heart of the Markbass Ninja 102-500 Combo is the Little Mark Ninja Head, which delivers up to 500 watts. It promises an uncompromising bass sound that preserves the character of the instrument used and reproduces every playful detail with enormous clarity and dynamics. In addition to the musically tuned 4-band tone control, the Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator (VLE) and the Variable Preshape Filter (VPF) are available for adjusting the sound image. Typical of Markbass amps, the former allows the sound to have a soft vintage coloration, while the latter provides a modern presence in the sound by enhancing bass and treble.
The Markbass Ninja Combo is also equipped with two 10" speakers and a piezo tweeter, providing a powerful sound with vivid dynamics and silky treble reproduction. The combo with its internal loudspeakers delivers 300 watts, ensuring sufficient volume reserves for band rehearsals and small-scale performances. Should higher volumes be required, the power can be increased to a full 500 watts by connecting an additional external speaker. In addition, the Markbass Ninja 102-500 has a balanced line output with pre/post switch and level control, making it easy to pick up on stage and in the studio.
Richard Bona was born in Cameroon on 28 October 1967 and began making music at the age of four. He made his first experiences on the Balfon, a traditional African xylophone, before switching to the guitar at the age of eleven and founding his first jazz ensemble at the age of 13. Nine years later Richard Bona came to Düsseldorf to study music. From there his way led him via France, where he gained valuable experience to New York. Within a very short time he established himself in the local jazz scene and became known to a worldwide audience through collaborations with Joe Zawinul, Mike Stern and George Benson.
