The Signature electric guitar of the fretboard wizard of the band Dream Theater relies on powerful DiMarzio humbuckers, a 2-point tremolo system with integrated piezo pickup developed especially for the model and the stunning look of toasted flamed maple in the noble Sahara Burst finish. The Music Man John Petrucci JP15 Sahara BurstFlame is furthermore delivered in the robust Music Man Hardshell Case.

The sculpted heel and wide cutaways guarantee agile playability of all layers of the five-ply bolt-on neck made of toasted curly maple.
Slim Okoumé Body & Toasted Maple
The goal of the woods used in this JP15 is to come up with the lightest possible weight, the greatest possible resonance, and a stunning appearance. Accordingly, Music Man relies on a body made of Okoumé, which is finished with a noble Figured Roasted Maple Top. Also the neck and the fretboard of the JP15 with 24 stainless steel frets in medium jumbo format are made of roasted maple and fivefold bolted to the body via the contoured neck foot to elicit a good response from the construction at maximum Sustain.
Thanks to DiMarzio Illuminator pickups, a piezo system and an active preamp with optional gain boost, the JP15 delivers rich guitar tones.
DiMarzio Illuminator Humbucker
As a true John Petrucci model, the JP15 Sahara Burst features two Signature humbuckers wound especially for John. Two DiMarzio Illuminator humbuckers, wound by US pickup giant DiMarzio, are used in the neck and bridge position and give the instrument the famously powerful and clear sound that expertly showcases juicy leads and complex riffs. Thanks to the additional boost function, which is housed in the push/push function of the volume control, furthermore up to 20db extra gain are available to give the amp sound additional assertiveness when needed.

As a welcome addition to the sound of the magnetic pickups, the custom John Petrucci Music Man Floating Tremolo is equipped with Fishman Powerbridge Ghost piezo tail pieces to make clear and airy acoustic tones available at any time. At the rear, the instrument offers extensive fine-tuning options in the form of trim pots for Mag Boost, Piezo 2-band EQ and Mag/Piezo Mix, while the separate Outputs can output the outgoing pickup signals either separately or in Mix. Behind the saddle with compensated string rests, Schaller M6-IND Locking tuners also keep the JP15 securely in the correct tuning.
