1. Principle and Operation of PA Column Speakers

The principle of PA column systems is simple yet highly effective: They consist of a subwoofer, a tall column element with multiple stacked speakers inside, and sometimes a distance spacer to elevate the speaker from the bass module. This results in a fully functional, mobile PA system in column form. Since most of these systems are active, meaning they have a built-in amplifier, there is no need for an additional power amplifier or powered mixer.

The setup and dismantling of PA column systems is incredibly straightforward. Simply place the subwoofer where needed, attach the column elements, and connect the system to a power source – done!
