The Paiste PST7 Cymbal Set Light is a light gauge cymbal set, that includes a 14" hi-hat, a 16" crash and a 20" ride, made from CuSn8 bronze, with a traditional finish. Paiste PST7 CymbalSet Light, 14HH, 16C, 20RI chose the Paiste PST7 light set after much online research and because I had previously played years ago and had a Paiste crash cymbal which I really liked the sound of (I think it was a 405 16" crash). I chose the light version of the cymbal pack as I wanted a crisp and versatile sound, I dont play all that hard so the light set is perfect for me in the genres I intend to use them, ambient rock/experimental, overall they have a great sound and are quite expressive no matter how you hit them, hit hard and you get an explosive wash of clear tones, hit them gently and they have alot of stick deffinition and warm washy expressiveness, overall I am really satisfied and I might add more 18/19 inch cymbals from the PST7 range but I may choose the medium or even heavy weight versions just for the sound differential and to colour my cymbal pallet more. Paiste cymbals have a very clearly defined sound which I think sets them apart at all price points, I would definitely recommend the PST7 cymbal pack (whichever weight suits your genre best) as a reliable choice for both entry level as well as more pro orientated players!
