RCF celebrates 25 years of ART loudspeakers with the introduction of a new generation of the series, featuring a sleek new design and 6 active loudspeaker models to choose from. The new ART 9 loudspeaker series sets new standards in professional audio with its innovative electro-acoustic design and extreme versatility, offering outstanding performance in a rugged, tour-ready enclosure. The ART 9 is a reliable audio solution that can be used as FOH system, fill speaker or stage monitor.
All models share a class-leading 2,100-watt, two-channel Class D amplifier with integrated DSP. The active loudspeaker offers innovative technologies and otherworldly sound for demanding audio applications. The combination of a 4-inch titanium/neodymium compression driver, 15-inch neodymium woofer and constant directivity TrueResistive Waveguide ensures consistent 100° x 60° coverage of the listening area with up to 135dB SPL of distortion-free sound.
The amplifier is energy efficient, so no fan is required. Performance is enhanced by new RCF transducers made from advanced materials such as Kapton, titanium and neodymium. They last up to ten times longer than their predecessors. Newly designed woofers are more stable under high loads and produce less distortion.
The ART 945-A is up to 50% more powerful than previous models.
The innovative electro-acoustic design of the RCF ART 945-A active loudspeaker is in its cabinet. The new True Resistive Waveguide (TRW) is the result of finite element analysis and hundreds of measurements in RCF's anechoic chambers, resulting in detailed improvements to both the transducer design and the bass reflex port.
The new shape and positioning of the bass reflex ports, combined with the innovative FiRPHASE technology, ensure that the ART900 speakers acoustically blend the tweeter and bass drivers into a single sound source for a perfect sound image. The TRW waveguide mimics a resonance-free, purely resistive load. This eliminates the high-frequency distortion of a conventional horn in front of the tweeter. The waveguide's asymmetric shape ensures that the radiation angle is matched. This ensures consistent volume, homogeneous sound and a perfect stereo image throughout the listening area.
These components work in harmony with two RCF-exclusive DSP algorithms. One for phase linearisation and crossover design, the other for woofer excursion management. FiRPHASE, an FIR technology, enables coherent sound distribution without phase distortion, ensuring minimal latency in the system. Bass Motion Control for bass excursion management has a complete picture of the transducer's dynamic behaviour and limits over-excursion. This allows the signal to be reproduced with complete freedom, eliminating the need for high-pass filters, broadband limiters and compressors. As a result, the speaker is able to reproduce the input signal at any volume across the entire audible spectrum, preserving all the nuances of music with deep, detailed bass.
The elegant black enclosure is made of a special polypropylene composite material with a radical new design concept. RCF's M-Brace internal reinforcement design connects four sides of the enclosure to the amplifier, preventing any deformation for a completely insensitive enclosure with increased acoustic damping even at maximum volume. The M-Brace stiffener ensures also provides greater resistance to mechanical stress.
With ergonomic handles on both sides and the top, the speaker is easy to transport. There is a mount on the bottom for mounting on a tripod or subwoofer spacer rod. Each model can also be flown, wall or truss mounted using multiple M10 rigging points or special accessories.
Designed with transparent and clear music reproduction in mind, the new ART 9 series is manufactured at RCF in Italy to ensure optimum build quality.
