Roland'sTR-6S is a combination of a modern drum machine and a sample player. As the little sister of the TR-8S, it masters all TR-Classic sounds (909, 808, 707, 606...), which were transported into the modern age with Roland's ACB technology, the FM-Drums known from the TR-8S, which depending on the selected drum model (kick, snare, cymbals...) clearly change the sound spectrum and at the same time also generate new sounds and of course the integration of one-shot samples. This way you can create vintage drum kits but also futuristic hybrid sets. The compact "One-Shot Allrounder" is clearly arranged and easy to use. Numerous effects, including delay, reverb, bit crusher, filter and distortion can be linked to the sounds and stored individually with them in 128 drum kits.
Sequencer
The sounds of the six-track groovebox are programmed in the classic TR grid including substeps and flam. Optionally, the tracks can also be programmed manually by tapping in. A total of 128 patterns can be stored in the TR-6S. The motion recorder, with which controller movements can be recorded, is not to be missed. Especially with the FM drums, this creates lively and dynamic sounds that some have never heard before. Of course, the Scatter was implemented in the Roland TR-6S as a variant to the Fill-In Pattern: expressive, to-the-point variations and amazing playback effects provide a varied performance.
DAW connection
Via a USB cable, the complete live session with the instrument can be recorded in a DAW, and of course, also modified. Easily swap parts, extend, repeat, refine recorded knob movements or simply finish composing; it's a snap. Your favourite OneShot samples can be transferred to the TR-6S via SD card.

Very well built, solid and small. I don't mind small controls, but there are many shortcuts to remember because of the not enough buttons. But this thing actually delivers and runs on batteries.
