The Sennheiser EW-DX EM 2 (Q1-9) is an advanced 2-channel digital receiver that is characterized by its high performance and flexibility. With its robust metal housing in half rack width (9.5 inch), this receiver is ideal for professional use in demanding environments.
Thanks to the switching bandwidth of up to 88 MHz and the low latency of just 1.9 ms, the Sennheiser EW-DX EM 2 offers reliable wireless audio transmission, which is supported by the company's own Sennheiser Performance Audio Codec (SePAC). This codec not only ensures outstanding sound quality, but also an exceptionally wide input dynamic range of 134 dB, so no gain adjustment of the wireless transmitters is required.
The receiver has an equidistant tuning grid that simplifies the assignment of intermodulation-free channels. In standard mode with a channel spacing of 600 kHz, up to 146 channels are available, while the Link Density (LD) mode with a spacing of 300 kHz allows up to 293 channels.
The network capability of the EW-DX EM 2 opens up a wide range of control options. Advanced remote control can be realized via Sennheiser Control Cockpit, the Wireless System Manager (WSM, available from mid-2023) and third-party media control systems. The integration of Power over Ethernet (PoE, IEEE 802.3af Class 3) and support for IPv4 and IPv6 ensure simple and flexible network integration.
The security of your transmissions is guaranteed by AES-256 encryption, so that confidential content is protected. The AutoScan function simplifies setup by scanning the environment and automatically assigning frequencies with equidistant channel spacing - even without in-depth knowledge of RF technology.
The Link Quality Indicator (LQI) gives you real-time information about the link quality, regardless of the RF levels. The receiver can also be controlled remotely via the Smart Assist app using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) from distances of up to 25 meters (available from the end of 2023).
Operation of the Sennheiser EW-DX EM 2 is intuitive and efficient thanks to the clear user interface with OLED display, jog wheel navigation and control buttons. A selective headphone output with volume control on the front panel allows direct monitoring of the audio signal.
Advanced menu settings such as user-defined frequency lists, selectable sync parameters and a walk test function round off the comprehensive functionality of this receiver. An external power supply (12V/1A) is also included and worldwide use is possible thanks to the support of various frequencies, whereby local RF regulations must be observed.
